The IVF Lab Database component, can be utilized in conjunction with the other modules, or the IVF Lab Database can be installed separately to manage all aspects of your laboratory. The IVF Lab Database systematizes the laboratory data, and it allows for the collection of oocyte and embryo development data on a daily basis for each individual oocyte/embryo. As for oocytes/embryos that are shipped in from outside facilities, the IVF Lab software integrates them into the current cryopreserved inventory for billing and procedural purposes; yet the laboratory of origination is retained, for treatment outcomes and statistical purposes.
The IVF Lab Database includes reporting for:
- FDA HCT/P Status for the patient, partner, and any related third-party donations.
- Partner's prior semen sample data for any prior testing and treatment.
- Third-party reproduction – very comprehensive collection of all third-party reproduction data. All the patient and donor relationships are clearly defined and the HCT/P status for each is included. This is designed to meet all of the FDA requirements for donor gametes/oocytes/embryos.
- Individual oocyte and embryo tracking for all days, from the retrieval or thaw, to the eventual disposition.
- Day 0 through day 7 with a multiple day check option for programs who perform more than one check per day.
- Detailed tracking of assisted hatching, ICSI, PGD, and other treatment related processes and procedures.
Patient Intake, Prep, and Cycle Planning
The IVF database collects all the relevant patient and partner demographics data. If your program or institution has a registration system in place, then part of your patient demographics data may be automatically brought over into the patient demographics table. After the IVF patient and her partner are entered and ready to begin a cycle, the cycle planning data is entered, which establishes the IVF treatment planning schedule. This data is then utilized by all other components. The entire system is designed to eliminate double input, and every component seamlessly follows the patient’s treatment throughout the healthcare facilities (IVF clinics, IVF laboratory, and Andrology laboratory).
SART (aka SART Registry) diagnosis, stimulation, retrieval, embryo transfer
Our IVF database covers the majority of the required SART data and it can be uploaded to SART, or it can be downloaded from SART; thus eliminating the need for duplicate input for approximately 50 fields. NOTE: Our software is more comprehensive than the SART software, so for research purposes, we recommend a discussion to determine if you want to upload or download data. This will also determine the complexity of the fields in the IVF database.
FRESH IVF Oocytes – IVF Lab Database
The IVF Lab database tracks the oocyte data from the day of retrieval and insemination (including the semen sample data), through fertilization, embryo development, embryo transfer, and oocyte/embryo cryopreservation. There are over 100 fields to track all aspects of the fresh oocyte and embryo development; including a comprehensive pre-implantation diagnosis (PGD) tracking feature. A comprehensive report can be generated, which includes all of the above mentioned data as well as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Human Cell and Tissue Products (HCT/P) status, for the patient/partner.
FROZEN IVF Oocytes/Embryo – IVF Lab Database
The IVF Lab database tracks the frozen oocyte/embryo data from the day of thawing and insemination (for oocytes), through fertilization, embryo development, embryo transfer, and final disposition. There are over 100 fields to track all aspects of the frozen oocyte and embryo development; including a comprehensive pre-implantation diagnosis (PGD) tracking feature. A comprehensive report can be generated, which includes all of the above mentioned data, as well as the FDA HCT/P status, for the patient/partner and third-party reproduction participants.
Statistical Package – IVF Database
IVF Lab Database contains a comprehensive statistical package to manage the REI intake numbers, the IVF laboratory quality control (QC), and the program treatment and outcome statistics. The statistical package is designed to assist the physicians, laboratory directors, and other healthcare practitioners in making well informed patient treatment and management decisions. Additionally the knowledge gained from these reports can be applied to one patient or a group of patients. The data is tracked per location, physician, nurse, and laboratory, so if your program has satellite locations they are completely integrated. The data can produce reports for all cycle types, (non-donor/donor, and fresh/frozen cycles) and all age groups (>35, 35-37, 38-40, 41-42, and >42). The system has the ability to incorporate your prior SART data, so you can: a) manage your returning patients; b) provide time trend analysis; c) create a comprehensive data source for research; , and d) it can be used as auditing tool to make sure you are meeting all your SART and/or mandated government requirements.
Sample Statistical Reports - Currently there are over 50 separate reports, statistical outcomes, and data sets, which can be created; daily if necessary. Below there are a few samples of the reports and their content. This is only a small portion of the capability, content and features, of all the reports available in the statistical module.
IVF Lab Database - Sample report from the Cycle Planning Statistics - This is a multipage report that shows the breakdown of each of the nurses cycle counts. It shows the cycle type (fresh or frozen) and how many cycles were completed, active, or cancelled. There are similar reports for the physicians, clinic site, and treatment protocol.
IVF Lab Database - Sample report from the IVF Fresh Cycles Statistics - This is a multipage report that shows the pregnancy rates for IVF fresh cycles. This report is broken down by age group, the day of transfer, and number of embryos transferred. It then calculates the pregnancy rate, the percentage of the number of fetal heart beats on the ultrasound, and the fetal heartbeat implantation rate. There is a similar report for frozen cycle pregnancy rates.
IVF Lab Database - Sample report from the Laboratory Statistics - This report shows the fertilization rates for fresh oocytes based on the origin of the oocytes and semen. There are similar fertilization reports based on the frozen oocyte fertilization rate; also for fresh or frozen cycle fertilization rates.
